My son, the one who made me a mama. The one who changed me for the better.
I know it’s cliche to say becoming a mom changed me, but it did. It forced me to get my *stuff* together. I could no longer sleep in until 11 AM. I could no longer drink until I was hungover for the entire next day. I could no longer procrastinate on things for so long that they eventually never got done.
I don’t say this because I miss that kind of lifestyle (okay I’d be lying if I said living care-free isn’t nice), I say it because I’m proud. I was able to focus on you, focus on this family I was creating, this new lifestyle I was living. And I’m glad I did because you’re an awesome kid.
You’re the funniest and sweetest little boy I know. You’re the best big brother to your sister; so helpful and loving. You amaze me with how smart you are and how fast you learn. Watching you grow and learn is the greatest reward.
I hope you enjoyed your birthday, baby boy. I know it wasn’t much due to the pandemic, but it was nice to finally get to the beach and spend the day with family! I hope you enjoyed it and I can’t wait to see all you accomplish this year!
Love, Mama
